BJP Pledges Integrity, Stability After President's Rule Imposed in Manipur

Following the imposition of President's Rule in Manipur, the BJP, led by MP Sambit Patra, vows to maintain the state's territorial integrity and restore peace amidst ongoing ethnic tensions. President Droupadi Murmu's decision shifts governance to Parliament as the party addresses infiltration issues and political instability.

In the wake of President's Rule being enforced in Manipur, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sambit Patra reaffirmed the party's resolve to preserve the state's territorial integrity and restore peace. Patra, overseeing BJP's North East unit, emphasized the party's focus on stability in the conflict-ridden region.

Responding to a report from the state's governor, President Droupadi Murmu has placed the Manipur state assembly under suspended animation. "This means the assembly can be reconstituted when deemed necessary," Patra said, highlighting BJP's commitment to peace and integrity in the state.

Under Article 356 of the Constitution, President's Rule was implemented, transferring state powers to Parliament and allowing direct governance through the Governor. The decision follows Chief Minister N Biren Singh's resignation amid ongoing violence and political instability gripping Manipur.
