BJP Criticizes AAP Over Ambedkar's Legacy Amid CAG Report Controversy

Delhi BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely criticized the AAP in the Legislative Assembly for allegedly undermining BR Ambedkar's legacy by replacing his portraits with Narendra Modi's. The exchange occurred amid protests and suspension of AAP MLAs during the CAG report presentation revealing major excise losses in Delhi.

In a heated session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of tarnishing BR Ambedkar's legacy. Lovely’s critique revolved around replacing Ambedkar’s portraits with those of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in government offices.

The confrontation took place as AAP members protested, claiming this act sidelines Ambedkar’s contributions. Moreover, Lovely argued that AAP’s disruption of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report presentation neglects constitutional obligations and destroys Ambedkar’s dreams.

The assembly's tension escalated when Speaker Vijender Gupta suspended 12 AAP members for disrupting proceedings. Consequently, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta proceeded to table the contentious CAG report, which highlights a Rs 2,026.91 crore loss due to the mishandling of excise policies.
