The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued a notice in response to a petition that challenges the results of the 2025 New Delhi Assembly election, seeking the election's annulment and proposing a re-election. The election saw BJP's Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma defeat former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The petitioner, Vishvanath Agarwal, who was a candidate for NCP (Ajit Pawar), alleges he was unable to file his nomination due to procedural irregularities, which he claims compromised the fairness of the election. He suggests that his exclusion shifted votes, affecting the election outcome.

Justice Jasmeet Singh has directed the Election Commission of India, State Election Commission, and various respondents, including Verma and Kejriwal, to reply by May 27. Agarwal, also an advocate, asserts that the returning officer denied him entry to file his nomination, further alleging biased administrative actions.
