In a strong statement on Monday, Rajasthan minister Madan Dilawar warned Pakistan against any further provocations, emphasizing the readiness of the Indian Army to respond to any betrayal. Dilawar remarked, "Pakistan wants to be destroyed...The Indian Army will not spare it for showing its double standards," in an interview with ANI.
Following days of heightened tensions due to unprovoked firing from across the border, districts like Barmer and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan are witnessing a return to normalcy. In Barmer, markets resumed activity with shops open and residents continuing their daily routines. In Jaisalmer, locals reported normal operations with businesses closing as usual by 7:30 pm.
On Sunday, Director General Military Operations, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, noted a conversation with his Pakistani counterpart resulted in a temporary cessation of hostilities. However, reports indicated Pakistan breached these agreements shortly thereafter. Operation Sindoor, a targeted military operation initiated on May 7, aimed to eliminate key figures behind recent terror attacks, including the Pahalgam attack which took 26 lives. India's robust military actions eliminated significant threats while Pakistan continued with unprovoked escalations.
