In a dramatic escalation, protests by the INDIA bloc MPs caused both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha to adjourn early on Friday, adding to a series of disruptions amid disputes over the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
Speaker Om Birla's repeated calls for the smooth functioning of the house were met with resistance, prompting adjournment until noon. Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman Harivansh lamented the loss of nearly 57 hours of session time due to the protests.
INDIA bloc members voiced concerns about potential voter suppression during a demonstration at the Parliament site. They criticized the lack of action from the Election Commission and questioned the integrity of the electoral review process, highlighting a tense political climate.
