CP Radhakrishnan, the Governor of Maharashtra, is set to travel to Delhi according to Bharatiya Janata Party sources. His visit follows a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Radhakrishnan, nominated by the National Democratic Alliance as their Vice Presidential candidate, is preparing for the election slated for September 9.
The announcement of Radhakrishnan's candidacy was made on Sunday by BJP National President JP Nadda. The decision was endorsed unanimously by the party's parliamentary board, aiming for a seamless election process after discussions with alliance partners and the opposition party. Radhakrishnan has served in various governmental roles, including as the Governor of Jharkhand and during additional charges in Telangana and Puducherry.
However, his nomination has attracted criticism from the Congress, which has labeled him "another RSS man." Party leader Manickam Tagore voiced concerns over the nomination, framing it as part of an ongoing battle for institutional integrity. Tagore's remarks on social media highlighted the stakes of the impending Vice Presidential election.
