Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday urged Congress and other opposition parties to avoid causing disruptions in Parliament over matters concerning the Election Commission. Addressing a press conference, Rijiju emphasized that disputes between political entities and the Election Commission should be resolved directly with the autonomous body, rather than being debated in Parliament.
Rijiju insisted that issues involving the Election Commission and Congress should not be aired in the Parliamentary forum. "We are not the spokespersons of the Election Commission of India (ECI)," he remarked, urging opposition parties to avoid creating a commotion over these matters.
Additionally, Rijiju announced a Parliamentary session dedicated to honoring Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and his historic journey to the International Space Station (ISS). "Today, we are paying tribute to Captain Shubhanshu Shukla for his space voyage and discussing India's mission in detail," Rijiju stated, calling for a positive, cooperative discussion akin to the recent bipartisan dialogue on Operation Sindoor.
Shukla participated in NASA's Axiom-4 Space Mission, having launched from Kennedy Space Centre in Florida on June 25 and returned to Earth on July 15, landing in California. He became the first Indian in 41 years to travel to space.
