The ambitious natural gas pipeline between Tripura and Mizoram is progressing steadily, with officials reporting 45% completion. Spearheaded by Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited, the 119.5-km project is slated for completion by December 2027, integrating into the North East Natural Gas Pipeline Grid.
Originating at Panisagar in Tripura, the pipeline will traverse multiple areas, including Kanhmun and Mamit, before terminating at Sihhmui, near Aizawl. Post-completion, it will provide household gas connections in Aizawl, courtesy of Tripura Natural Gas Corporation Limited, enhancing energy accessibility and affordability for residents.
Civil Supplies Minister B Lalchhanzova's recent visit underscored the project's significance for Mizoram, emphasizing its role in commercial, industrial, and transport sectors. The project is not only about energy supply but also about fostering employment and catalyzing industrial growth in the region.
