Labeling the meeting a privileged and emotionally rich experience, Sawant highlighted the significance for his family, as his father's involvement in social work stems from the Jan Sangh movement.
In a message shared on X, Sawant expressed joy and honor in meeting the Prime Minister, emphasizing the emotional resonance the event held for his father, who has committed his life to social service initiated through Jan Sangh. Sawant praised PM Modi for inspiring countless party workers across the nation.
Earlier in the day, Sawant convened a crucial meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) to evaluate Goa's preparedness for the 2026 monsoon season. Discussions revolved around ensuring operational readiness of emergency facilities and addressing potential monsoon-related risks, ranging from flood-prone areas to emergency communication systems. He directed department heads to collaborate efficiently and suggested various safety measures to diminish risks during emergencies.
