The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), has introduced an innovative AI-driven platform called 'iOncology.ai'. Designed to revolutionize the approach to breast and ovarian cancer care in India, this indigenous platform promises to significantly enhance early detection, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
Showcased during a recent episode of Digital India Ask Experts, the platform is positioned as an India-centric solution to aid clinicians, pathologists, and radiologists in making expeditious and evidence-based clinical decisions by leveraging AI-generated data insights. Key figures in the discussion included Lakshmi Panat from C-DAC, Prof Ashok Sharma of AIIMS New Delhi, and Dr. Fouzia Siraj from the ICMR-Centre for Cancer Pathology.
Incorporated within the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission ecosystem, iOncology.ai aims to ease the burden on India's healthcare infrastructure by streamlining diagnostic support and enhancing access to vital clinical insights. Through role-based data access and innovations like telepathology, the platform seeks to broaden healthcare access, especially in remote areas, while emphasizing the critical role of collaborative efforts in integrating AI into medical practice.
