India's Health Triumph: NFHS-6 Survey Reveals Significant Progress

The NFHS-6 survey highlights remarkable strides in India's maternal and child health, nutrition, and coverage of critical health services. With a comprehensive look at nearly 6.79 lakh households across 715 districts, the survey reveals increased vaccination rates, improved maternal care, and strengthened public health infrastructure.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has unveiled the National Family Health Survey - 6, showcasing accelerated progress in India's health sectors. Conducted between 2023-24 with the International Institute for Population Sciences, this survey covers an expansive demographic range, providing key insights into health and nutrition indicators.

The survey underscores significant advancements in health, nutrition, and social development metrics. These improvements are attributed to systematic policy initiatives and effective execution of health programs, resulting in better maternal and child healthcare services throughout India.

Key survey findings reveal substantial growth in maternal healthcare: antenatal care for pregnant women reached 95.9%, while institutional deliveries rose to 90.6%. Vaccination coverage among children improved, with 95.6% receiving vaccinations from public health facilities, demonstrating the community's confidence in these services.
