In a significant legal development, the Tis Hazari Court has instructed the Delhi Police to file a First Information Report (FIR) against the wife and in-laws of a man who died by suicide. The court's move comes after allegations surfaced that the deceased, Sachin, had been driven to his tragic decision due to threats and false accusations by his wife and her family.

Ganga Devi, Sachin's mother, approached the court seeking justice for her son, resulting in Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Ankit Karan Singh ordering the registration of the FIR. Sachin, before his death, recorded a video explicitly attributing his decision to end his life to the baseless accusations made by his wife and in-laws. The court emphasized that the video serves as critical evidence in the case.

In its directive, the court noted that charges under section 108 of BNS for abetment to suicide were applicable, highlighting a conspiracy by the accused to compel Sachin to take his life. The court also referenced a landmark Supreme Court case to support swift legal proceedings, urging further investigation and allowing additional charges as deemed appropriate. The FIR is to be registered within 48 hours.
