In a notable political development, former Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai announced his resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday. Citing irreconcilable differences in political direction with the BJP leadership, Annamalai plans to establish a new political movement set to contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Karu Nagaraajan, the state BJP Vice President, has also stepped down to join Annamalai's initiative. Annamalai expressed that his views did not align with the party, stating he had previously informed them of his decision but chose to fulfill his obligations through the election period before parting ways.
His announcement came shortly after resigning from the BJP, with party National President Nitin Nabin accepting his decision. The move comes amid the backdrop of BJP's electoral losses in Tamil Nadu, adding to speculations about Annamalai's future political strategy. Despite mixed responses from political circles, the focus remains on Annamalai's potential impact on the state's political landscape.
