Rescued Bear Cubs Find New Home in Dehing Patkai National Park

In a significant milestone for wildlife conservation in Assam, two orphaned Asiatic black bear cubs have been successfully released into Dehing Patkai National Park. Rescued in 2025, the cubs were nurtured at Kaziranga's Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation before their release, exemplifying effective wildlife rehabilitation and management.

In an impressive stride for wildlife conservation, two orphaned Asiatic black bear cubs are beginning a new chapter, having been released into Dehing Patkai National Park, Assam, after being rescued from the Dissoi Reserved Forest in Jorhat in 2025.

Under the guidance of Sonali Ghosh, the Field Director of Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve, the cubs were discovered and handed over for special care to the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC) in Kaziranga.

After receiving comprehensive rehabilitation, the cubs were successfully reintegrated into the wild, showcasing Assam's dedication to wildlife preservation. The CWRC's efforts, alongside local community support, highlight a collective endeavor in ensuring these animals have a chance to thrive.
