In a landmark decision that may bring an end to years of contentious litigation, the Supreme Court has mandated the enforcement of a mediated settlement pertaining to disputes involving the Ardee Group's assets. This directive aims to finally settle disagreements within the family of the late real estate tycoon, Ashok Varma.
The litigation, which revolved around the business interests and real estate holdings of the Ardee Group, primarily engaged Shefali Varma and Shibani Varma Kapur, daughters of Ashok Varma. The significant progress was achieved under the mediation of former Supreme Court Judge Justice Kurian Joseph, designated by the court to broker an amicable settlement.
Details from the Supreme Court indicate that a Memorandum of Settlement was effectuated during mediation, with several terms settled between the factions. The court has now granted additional time to elaborate on the framework for implementing the agreement, with hopes that this marks a definitive end to the long-standing Ardee Group dispute.
