In a recent incident in Peerah village, Ramban, a Border Security Force (BSF) bus collided with two vehicles after its brakes failed, leading to injuries among four personnel, according to the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The accident resulted in the closure of the uptube of National Highway 44, forcing traffic to be rerouted to the downtube. Authorities are still awaiting additional details on the situation.
Earlier this year in January, a tragic accident involving an Army vehicle occurred in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, claiming the lives of 10 personnel. The incident took place in the Khanni Top area of Bhaderwah. Official sources reported that the vehicle, carrying troops for an operation, slipped off the road due to adverse weather conditions and challenging terrain.
Following the Doda accident, rescue operations were swiftly initiated by the Army and local administration teams, despite the adverse weather and hazardous terrain. The injured were given first aid on-site and subsequently airlifted to Udhampur for specialized medical care. In the wake of this tragedy, there was an outpouring of condolences from national leaders, including President Droupadi Murmu, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
