The political landscape in West Bengal is witnessing turbulence as reports suggest 20 Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs might defect to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Amidst this speculation, BJP MLA Shankar Sikdar sharply criticized the TMC, claiming it lacks ideological grounding, while asserting that rebels aim to protect their interests by distancing themselves from Mamata Banerjee.

Sikdar emphasized the perceived disintegration of the TMC, highlighting past predictions by the Chief Minister about the party's instability. A viral social media post has exacerbated the situation, naming prominent TMC figures allegedly involved in extending support to the NDA. However, this claim has been rejected by All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) leader Kirti Azad, who called the list "fake and fabricated," stating that it is part of a failed attempt by BJP to cause a rift within TMC ranks.

Meanwhile, internal dissension continues with expelled TMC leader Sandipan Saha and others asserting a significant legislative majority, challenging the current party leadership and opposing Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay's selection as Leader of the Opposition. This upheaval underscores the intense political strife and factionalism within the party amidst a broader backdrop of political developments.
