On Friday, Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan assessed the readiness for the upcoming NEET re-examination in a meeting with the Director-General of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The review concentrated on ensuring a smooth, transparent, and secure re-exam process through coordinated efforts among all relevant stakeholders. According to a release from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, the NEET re-examination is scheduled for June 21.

Somanathan highlighted the joint efforts of the Central Government, State Governments, and District administrations in maintaining the integrity of the NEET re-exam. He assured that legal actions would be taken against any attempts to compromise the process. Comprehensive arrangements were reviewed with senior government officials and agencies on June 1, followed by a meeting with State Chief Secretaries on June 4 to evaluate progress.

The ongoing meetings are crucial to reinforce coordination, enhance preparedness, and preserve the NEET re-exam's credibility. Due to paper leak allegations, the NEET-UG 2026 has been rescheduled for June 21. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is actively investigating, having made several arrests, amid escalating protests by student groups nationwide.

Previously, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inspected the NEET UG 2026 re-exam preparations at the NTA headquarters. He assured reporters of a high-level framework activated by the government to uphold transparency throughout the re-examination process. (ANI)
