Vision Revived: Army's Cataract Camp Brings Sight to Veterans

In a commendable initiative by the Army Hospital (Research & Referral) and two other hospitals, over 350 cataract surgeries were conducted in West Bengal, bringing advanced ophthalmic care to veterans. The camp spanned five days, treating ex-servicemen from across the region, including Nepal.
Under the leadership of Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra, the initiative catered to 1,752 individuals, providing high-standard medical care, free surgeries, and distributing over 500 pairs of glasses. The use of top-tier equipment and lenses underscored the ministry's commitment to delivering quality healthcare.
The camp was initiated following directives from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, marking a solid partnership between military and state officials. This effort ensures healthcare access to those who served the nation, emphasizing the Indian Army's dedication to veteran welfare.
