In a fresh escalation of conflict, Russian drones and missiles struck Kyiv early Saturday, leaving a trail of destruction across the Ukrainian capital. The city's military administration reported that the attacks injured four individuals, with strikes occurring in six distinct locations.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's military administration, detailed how the assault impacted apartment buildings and other dwellings in the sprawling city of 3 million people. While three people sustained minor injuries, one required hospital treatment. Reports emerged of drones still circling the outskirts.
Kyiv's Mayor Vitali Klitschko noted that one attack sparked a significant fire in the lower floors of a high-rise apartment west of the city center, while another fire was quickly contained in a central district. The capital's air defense units remained on high alert as they responded to the attacks.
