AIIMS-Guwahati has made history by becoming the first institution in Northeast India to secure accreditation as an advanced trauma life support (ATLS) provider, according to a recent official release.

The initiative launched with the institute hosting its inaugural ATLS provider course from December 12 to 14, introducing a new era of structured trauma training in the area.

This accreditation represents a crucial step in delivering standardized trauma management techniques, with a strong focus on the vital 'golden hour' after injury, which is critical for survival outcomes.
