A concerning outbreak of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) has claimed two lives in Neemuch district, Madhya Pradesh, prompting swift government intervention. The immunological nerve disorder, which affects the peripheral nervous system, has been detected in over a dozen people in Manasa town.
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, also in charge of public health and medical education, visited the affected region to assess the situation. Special wards for GBS patients are being established, and a control room has been set up to handle the crisis. The state government is covering the costs of treatment for those affected.
