In a startling health concern, 19 individuals who donated blood at a recent camp in Lucknow were found to have tested positive for Hepatitis B. This revelation has prompted health officials to initiate a retesting process to confirm the initial findings and monitor the health status of the individuals involved.

Dr. NB Singh, the Chief Medical Officer of Lucknow, disclosed to PTI that the retesting camp held on Sunday is part of a precautionary measure. The initial positive results necessitated further testing and analysis to ensure the safety and health of the donors.

The original blood donation camp, conducted on February 27 at Munshi Khera and other villages in Malihabad, involved taking additional samples, which are currently undergoing analysis at KGMU. Hepatitis B, a serious viral infection affecting the liver, is primarily transmitted through contact with infected blood and body fluids, posing significant public health concerns globally.
