Gobardhan Das, a newly appointed full-time member of Niti Aayog, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. Modi commended Das's persistent struggles, which have only bolstered his resolve to serve the community and alleviate suffering, particularly in public health and immunology.
On April 24, the government revamped Niti Aayog, appointing former chief economic advisor Ashok Kumar Lahiri as vice-chairman, alongside Das and other full-time members. Modi highlighted that Das's work and academic contributions would enrich the institution's policy-making framework.
In response, Das expressed his commitment to working with integrity to fulfill Modi's vision of a developed India. He remarked on the significance of his appointment, given his humble roots, and extended gratitude for the pride it has brought to Bengal.
