Narendra Modi has highlighted the dangers posed by the current heatwave sweeping through much of India. Emphasizing preventive measures, he urged citizens to keep hydrated and to be particularly mindful of children, the elderly, and those working under the sun.

In social media messages, Modi stressed the urgency for vigilance against heat exhaustion, noting symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and fatigue. He encouraged community support by suggesting offering water to those in need, and assisting anyone showing signs of heat stress by moving them to cooler areas.

Modi also advised citizens to keep in touch with older relatives during this period and reminded people to pay attention to animals, advocating for placing water bowls outside for birds and animals.

The Indian Meteorological Department reports temperatures hitting a harsh 47.4 degrees Celsius in parts of Uttar Pradesh. Acknowledging these challenges, Modi emphasized collective care and compassion.
