Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, along with her associates, fled their country amidst political chaos, arriving in India on a C-130 J transport aircraft from Dhaka. The team did not manage to bring along essentials, as they left in a hurry, sources told ANI.
Indian protocol officials assisted Hasina's entourage in acquiring clothes and daily necessities upon their arrival. The group, in a state of shock from recent events in Bangladesh, includes numerous members of the reputed political family, all of whom sought refuge in India.
Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was in constant communication with the arriving officials and met with Hasina immediately upon her landing in Delhi. She and her team were swiftly provided assistance and transported to secure locations in the city, sources confirmed.
The political climate in Bangladesh has been tense, with Prime Minister Hasina resigning on August 5 amid student-led protests that escalated into broader anti-government demonstrations, highlighting the country's volatile situation.
