Director Generals of Military Operations from India and Pakistan engaged in significant discussions today, with sources confirming that the talks have concluded for now.
Originally set for noon on Monday, the DGMO-level talks were rescheduled to the evening, following an understanding on Saturday to halt firing and military actions after Pakistan's DGMO reached out to Indian counterpart Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai.
During a joint press conference, Lt Gen Ghai revealed that his communication with the Pakistan DGMO led to an agreement to cease hostilities, starting from 5 PM on May 10. However, this ceasefire was soon violated by cross-border firing and drone intrusions, prompting robust responses from the Indian side.
Lt Gen Ghai indicated India's firm stance on responding aggressively to any repeated violations, with the full backing of the Chief of Army Staff. Additionally, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir, a direct response to a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
