In the early hours of Monday, the Iranian government confirmed that residential areas in the capital remained untouched by a series of explosions. As reported by Iran's state media, two loud blasts were heard shortly before dawn in different parts of western Tehran.

Despite public unease over these incidents, Tehran Fire Department reassured citizens that urban locations were not hit. This comes amidst rising tensions following Israel's latest military foray into Iranian territory, with early Monday airstrikes targeting strategic sites across central and western Iran.

This significant military escalation comes after Iran's recent attacks, raising fears of renewed conflict in the region. Further reverberations were detected in Isfahan, Karaj, Tabriz, and Tehran according to state television, though specifics remain scarce.

Iran refrained from immediate details on impacted areas or potential casualties. However, the Revolutionary Guard indicated that Israel employed air-launched ballistic missiles in their attack.

As operations commenced, the Israeli military briefly acknowledged the offensive, highlighting their intent to strike targets linked to the Iranian regime, yet withheld details on specific targets.

The hostilities escalate at a time when fraught diplomatic negotiations between the U.S. and Iran have stalled, complicating efforts to maintain an unsteady ceasefire amidst Israeli and Hezbollah skirmishes. Sunday saw Israeli airstrikes in Beirut, which prompted Iran to retaliate, leading to Monday's Israeli assaults.

President Trump, amidst the deepening security crisis, urged Iran to cease hostilities and re-engage in talks, lamenting that Israel's actions in Beirut were uncoordinated with U.S. interests. Axios cited a U.S. official indicating Trump requested Israeli PM Netanyahu to avoid immediate retaliation, with some success in delaying further action.
