Fida Firdous Condemns Violence in PoJK, Urges Global Intervention
Renowned author Fida Firdous has condemned escalating violence in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, holding Pakistani forces accountable for over 55 civilian deaths. He contrasts the unrest with Jammu and Kashmir's peaceful development and urges international intervention. Firdous calls for local political parties to formally condemn the violence.
Fida Firdous, a distinguished author, has openly criticized the rising violence in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), calling it "heart-wrenching." His comments, made during an interview with ANI, come as reports surface of over 55 civilian deaths amid ongoing protests and alleged crackdowns by Pakistani security forces.
Drawing a sharp contrast between the unrest in PoJK and developments in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Firdous commended the Central government's efforts in promoting "peace, prosperity, and happiness," highlighting milestones like the opening of the Zoji-la Tunnel. He noted that residents of J-K experience freedoms that are noticeably absent under Pakistani administration.
Firdous accused the Pakistan Army Rangers of extrajudicial killings, including those of protesters demanding authentic rights. He highlighted issues such as internet blockades, media restrictions, and inflation, criticizing Pakistan’s administration for failing to ensure safety and welfare in PoJK. Urging international attention, he called on the United Nations Security Council to intervene and appealed to Jammu and Kashmir's political parties for humanitarian support.
