China will not engage in competitive currency devaluation, it's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday, a day after U.S. President Donald Trump renewed his criticism of Beijing's foreign exchange policy.

Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang made the comment at a daily news briefing on Thursday, reiterating past statements from China. In a message on Twitter on Wednesday, Trump said that China and Europe were "playing (a) big currency manipulation game and pumping money into their system in order to compete with the USA.".
