The letter was first reported by the Miami Herald. Consulted about the letter, a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council said the Biden administration is committed to supporting Haiti by providing aid and by backing a "Haitian solution to the current political impasse."

"Our highly capable team from across the U.S. government works diligently with stakeholders in Haiti as well as within the international community to support a more stable, secure, and prosperous Haiti," said the spokesperson.
