Amit Shah, G Kishan Reddy Cleared in Minor Use Allegation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy have been cleared from an FIR related to the alleged use of minors in a BJP political rally. After an inquiry, police confirmed their non-involvement. Other associated members will continue to face charges under Section 188 of IPC.

In a significant development, the names of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Telangana BJP Chief G Kishan Reddy have been dropped from an FIR. The complaint, initially filed over the alleged use of minors in a BJP poll campaign, has been under scrutiny for the past month.

According to the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), TPCC vice-president G Niranjan had lodged a complaint asserting the presence of minor children on stage with Shah during a BJP rally on May 1. The CEO subsequently forwarded the complaint to the city police for a detailed report, leading to the filing of an FIR against Shah, Reddy, and three others.

After an exhaustive inquiry, a police official confirmed that there was no evidence implicating Shah or Reddy in the incident. The charge sheet, filed in a local court last week, excludes their names. However, the case against the three remaining individuals will proceed under Section 188 of the IPC for violating an order issued by a public servant, the official added.
