India-Sri Lanka Partnership: NCGG to Train 1,500 Island Nation's Administrative Officers

A roadmap for collaboration between India's National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and Sri Lanka's Institute of Development Administration is in the works to train 1,500 administrative officers from the island nation. This initiative follows a high-level Indian delegation visit led by NCGG Director General V Srinivas from July 7-9.
According to a statement from the Personnel Ministry, the visit involved productive meetings that paved the way for stronger bilateral ties and capacity-building support for Sri Lanka's senior public officials. The proposed collaboration spans 2024-2029 and encompasses faculty development programs and interactions at the district collector level.
The visit included a courtesy call on Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dinesh Chandra Rupasinghe Gunawardena, underscoring India's commitment to its 'Neighbors First' policy and Sri Lanka's governance reforms. Meetings also took place with senior Sri Lankan officials to bolster collaboration.
