Tragic Family Incident in Madhya Pradesh: Mother and Four Children's Lives Lost

In a tragic event in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur district, Sugna Bai attempted suicide by jumping into a well with her four children, leading to their drowning. Despite local efforts, the children could not be saved. A preliminary investigation revealed domestic abuse by her husband prior to the incident.

In a heart-wrenching incident, four children drowned after their mother jumped into a well with them in an apparent suicide attempt in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur district, officials reported.

The unfortunate event transpired in Pipalkheda village, Garoth, approximately 100 km from the district headquarters during the early hours. Despite locals rescuing Sugna Bai, aged 40, her children Arvind (11), Anusha (9), Bittu (6), and Kartik (3) could not be saved in time, Additional Superintendent of Police Hemlata Kuril informed journalists.

Initial investigations suggest that Sugna's husband, Rodu Singh, had assaulted her the previous evening, prompting her to seek refuge with her children at a nearby school. Tragically, around 6 am, she reportedly jumped into the well with her children. The children's bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and further investigations are ongoing.
