The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday executed a series of raids across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, targeting the residences of five absconding PFI members implicated in the 2019 murder of PMK worker Ramalingam, officials revealed.
A Chennai special court had earlier declared the suspects—Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Abdul Majith, Bhurkanudeen, Shahul Hameed, and Nafeel Hasan—as proclaimed offenders in Ramalingam's killing on February 5, 2019.
In a coordinated operation, the NIA searched 15 locations, seizing numerous digital devices and documents. The crackdown aims to dismantle the PFI network accused of violent proselytization efforts, which led to Ramalingam's brutal murder.
