Activists Urge India to Halt Military Exports to Israel Amid Genocide Allegations

At a press conference on Thursday, activists demanded the Indian government revoke licenses for companies supplying military arms and equipment to Israel, citing an ICJ ruling that finds Israel in violation of the Genocide Convention.
Author Arundhati Roy and CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat stressed India's historical solidarity with Palestine and called for the government to be held accountable for its support of Israel. Jean Dreze highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire.
Retired diplomat Ashok Sharma and advocate Prashant Bhushan criticized India's ongoing military cooperation with Israel. The activists plan to submit a memorandum to the government and Parliament members to address the issue.
