A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till August 20 in a corruption case related to an alleged excise scam. The case was registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja made the decision during a video conference hearing. The court is also set to consider a supplementary charge sheet against Kejriwal on August 12.

Kejriwal, arrested by the CBI on June 26 from Tihar Jail in relation to a connected money laundering investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), continues to be in custody as he has not furnished a bail bond despite being granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in the ED case on July 12.
