A court in Delhi has ordered an action-taken report on an application for filing an FIR against seven individuals, including a senior Delhi Police officer.
Judicial Magistrate Apoorv Bhardwaj is overseeing the case, initiated by businessman Dharmesh Sharma, who claims he was defrauded of over Rs 1 crore by a car dealer and three relatives. He alleges that Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Jitendra Kumar Meena, SHO of Bharat Nagar police station Rakesh Vijay, and Sub-Inspector Shailender are protecting the accused.
The complainant's lawyers, Sanjay Sharma and Karan Sachdeva, stated that despite calling police helpline 112, no action was taken. They allege that the DCP provided police protection to one of the accused, Kapil Mehta, which was used to intimidate their client.
The plea seeks FIR registration on multiple charges, including cheating and criminal intimidation. The court instructed the Bharat Nagar SHO to file an action-taken report by September 30, detailing any complaints received, actions taken, and the status of any FIRs registered.
