The Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended 11 Bangladeshis during a special drive aimed at preventing illegal crossings along the International Borders of West Bengal, Tripura, and Meghalaya. The operation coincides with heightened security measures ahead of Independence Day.
Of the 11 apprehended individuals, two each were captured at the West Bengal and Tripura borders, while seven were caught entering through the Meghalaya border. The detainees are currently undergoing questioning and will be handed over to the police for further legal action, according to a BSF statement issued on Sunday.
An operational conference chaired by the ADG of BSF's Eastern Command was held at the Kolkata office to discuss strategies for enhancing border security. The BSF will continue its close collaboration with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and coordinate with various authorities, including police and customs, to bolster border management.
