Magistrate Aarti Kulkarni noted that while Mohammed Kaif Fakir's actions warranted life imprisonment, his age and lack of prior offenses merited a chance for probation. The decision was made on August 22, with the court emphasizing the mental distress caused to the victim but also considering the potential impact of a harsh sentence on Fakir's future.

The court ordered Fakir to be released after furnishing a bond of Rs 15,000 and mandated his regular appearances before a probation officer. The incident, which took place in April 2022, involved Fakir touching the woman inappropriately while delivering groceries at her home. Although he claimed the contact was accidental, the court found the evidence and the woman's testimony convincing enough to convict him.
