A case has been registered against a female tuition teacher in Thane district, Maharashtra, for allegedly striking a six-year-old girl with a ruler for not writing properly, an official stated. The incident took place around 11.30 am in Sagaon village.
The teacher, identified as Sarika Ghag, allegedly hit the girl with a ruler and struck her ears for perceived academic inadequacies. The child reported the incident to her mother, prompting the parents to lodge a complaint with the police.
The Manpada police station has registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 118(1) and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act against the teacher.
