Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday urged cybersecurity agencies to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to uncover the modus operandi of cybercriminals duping individuals, spreading fake news, and engaging in online abuse.
Shah highlighted that India accounts for nearly 46% of global digital transactions, posing significant challenges for cyber watchdogs. He was addressing the first foundation day of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), established in 2018 to tackle cybercrime issues at a national level.
During the event, Shah inaugurated four new platforms under I4C, including the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC) and the 'Samanvaya' platform, aimed at enhancing cybercrime prevention. Emphasizing the need for a shift from a 'need to know' to a 'duty to share' approach among agencies, Shah underscored the importance of nationwide coordination in cyber defense.
