Delhi Police Register FIR Over Malicious Tweet Targeting Judiciary
Delhi Police registered an FIR against a malicious tweet targeting the judiciary. The complaint came from the Supreme Court administration. The case includes charges under sections 356, 217, 351, and others of the BNS 2023 and IT Act 2000. Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) is investigating.

Delhi Police on Wednesday registered an FIR in connection with an alleged malicious post on X against the judiciary, following a complaint from the Supreme Court administration.
A complaint was received from the Admin Security office at the Supreme Court of India about a factually incorrect tweet on X (formerly known as Twitter), intended to malign the judiciary on Monday, according to a statement from Delhi Police.
A case was filed under sections 356 (punishment for defaming), 217 (false information against public servant), 351 (threat to injure reputation), 61(2)(a) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS 2023, and Section 66(C) (punishment for identity theft) of the IT Act 2000. The Special Cell is investigating the case.
The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) division is leading the investigation. Sources claimed that the post referenced a family member of the Chief Justice of India. Earlier, the West Bengal police also initiated a probe.
