Drone Strikes on Kyiv: A Night Under Siege
Russia launched a second consecutive night of drone attacks on Kyiv, damaging buildings and injuring civilians. Ukrainian officials reported the interception of multiple drones, though falling debris caused injuries and property damage. The strikes are part of ongoing hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.
Russia launched several drone waves targeting Kyiv for the second consecutive night, causing damage to residential buildings and injuring at least one civilian, according to Ukrainian officials on Monday.
"Another night, another worry," conveyed Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv's military administration, via Telegram. He described the ongoing intensity of air attacks on Kyiv, noting that around 10 drones aimed at the city from multiple directions were neutralized. No weapons hit their targets, but debris from the drones caused injuries and damaged buildings.
Debris was reported to have fallen in three major districts, affecting roofs, building facades, and power cables, Mayor Vitali Klitschko informed on Telegram. The air raid alerts extended over five hours before air force units declared the skies clear around 0215 GMT. In eastern Ukraine's Kharkiv region, at least 12 were injured by guided air bombs, local police mentioned. Both nations deny targeting civilians amid the continuing conflict.
