Lin Jian, a spokesperson for China's foreign ministry, stated at a press conference that these sanctions were unilateral and unauthorized by the United Nations Security Council, embodying China's consistent opposition to such measures.

Labeling Canada's sanctions against Chinese entities as completely unjustified, Lin Jian stressed the gravity of the diplomatic disagreement, following sanctions announced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
