U.S. Deportations Highlight Challenges of Indian Repatriation

Since early 2025, 636 Indian nationals have been deported from the United States, a fact highlighted in the Indian Parliament on Friday.
Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, confirmed that 341 of these individuals returned to India on chartered flights, 55 via Panama on commercial flights, and 240 on separate commercial flights.
The government is actively involved in ensuring the welfare and reintegration of the deported individuals, while also addressing broader concerns around illegal immigration.
