Crisis in Punjab: Emergency Declared Following Missile Strikes

Pakistan's Punjab province has declared a state of emergency after Indian missile strikes killed 26 people. Educational institutions are closed, and medical and security staff have been placed on high alert. The strikes were in response to a previous attack in Pahalgam.

On Wednesday, an emergency was declared in Pakistan's Punjab province following Indian missile strikes that resulted in dire casualties. The Pakistani army reported that 26 individuals were killed and 46 injured as missiles targeted cities in Punjab and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Punjab's Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, responded by declaring a state of emergency. Security agencies have been on high alert, and all medical staff have had their leaves canceled and been instructed to report for duty immediately. Consequently, educational institutions are temporarily closed.

These military actions occurred under Operation Sindoor, conducted by the Indian armed forces to retaliate against a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the loss of 26 lives. Following these events, Pakistan's airspace, initially closed, has begun to reopen partially.
