Raigad Revenue Official Caught in Bribery Scandal
The Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested a talathi in Raigad, Maharashtra, for taking a Rs 10,000 bribe to update land records. Firoz Ilahi Muzawar demanded Rs 15,000 initially, receiving Rs 5,000 upfront before the complainant involved the ACB. He was caught accepting the remaining amount and arrested.

A talathi from Maharashtra's Raigad district has been taken into custody for allegedly accepting a bribe. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) detained Firoz Ilahi Muzawar after he was caught in the act on Tuesday. The official reportedly demanded Rs 15,000 initially to update land records.
The complainant approached Muzawar concerning the mutation of land records in Kanthane village. An advance of Rs 5,000 was paid, following which the ACB was informed of the misconduct.
The ACB orchestrated a trap and apprehended Muzawar as he accepted a bribe of Rs 10,000. A case has now been registered against him at the Roha police station, as per a statement from the Navi Mumbai ACB unit.
