In response to rising tensions between India and Pakistan after the recent Pahalgam terror attack, key locations in Kerala's 14 districts held emergency mock drills on Wednesday.
At the Collectorate building in Ernakulam, the drill commenced with an alarm. As the electricity was cut, the six-floor building enveloped itself in darkness. Flames and smoke were simulated on the top floors to recreate a real-life emergency scenario.
Rescue teams, comprising firefighters, police, and civil defense volunteers, promptly initiated evacuation protocols. Participants were safely escorted out, with a simulated injury treated swiftly. The drill, closely monitored by the district collector, underscored the importance of rapid, efficient response strategies.
