A Delhi court has ruled to remand 26/11 Mumbai attack accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana to Tihar Jail until June 6. The directive came after his previous custody with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) concluded.
Rana, charged for his association with David Coleman Headley in the infamous attacks that left 166 dead, was handed over to judicial custody at the behest of NIA. This follows the US Supreme Court's dismissal of Rana's review plea opposing extradition.
The court extended Rana's NIA custody multiple times, with the agency insisting that he could provide crucial information on Lashkar-e-Taiba's plans. Despite Rana's claims of exhaustive interrogations, the agency vowed to proceed judiciously while seeking additional evidence through voice and handwriting samples.
